TRUE LOVE 3 [Chapter 4: Dust to Dust]

I hardly slept a wink. I carried so much energy throughout the night. At 7 in the morning, I decided to get up and do something with the energy. I cleaned up the house, re-organized the kitchen cabinets, irons all the clothes in our closet, wash dirty laundry, I even washed the cars by hand. Around 10am, I had begun cooking breakfast, hoping the smell would wake up Cameron. On cue, he walked downstairs in his pajama bottoms only. Cloud ran down behind him. While the bacon was cooking, I ran over to open a can of cat food for Cloud. She screamed out a meow, thanking me.

“Morning baby.” He said yawning
“Morning.” I said leaning out my cheek allowing him to kiss me

He stood behind me while I stood at the stove and wrapped his arms around my waist, resting his head on my shoulder.

“Did you reorganize the kitchen?” he asked
“Yeah. I couldn’t sleep, so I did stuff to keep me busy this morning.” I said, listing the chores I did before he woke up

After we ate breakfast we got ready. We had plans to hang out with our friends in the afternoon. Before meeting them, Cameron and I ran some errands and hit up the stores. I bought a father’s day gift for my dad. Although, we weren’t speaking, it didn’t mean I didn’t love him. I would usually send a father’s day gift, birthday or Christmas gift to my dad via Mom. She would always thank me on his behalf. This year I bought him a new grill. The one he had was old and falling apart. The last time I spoke with my mother, she had mentioned that they were considering new careers. It was shocking since they loved teaching so much.

“What did you Mom say they were looking into doing?” Natalie asked while we joined our friends at the beach
“Opening a restaurant.” I laughed
“Don’t laugh. That’s a good business. Besides, your parents are amazing cooks.” Cameron said
“True. I mean, they’ve even gone as far as applying for a loan.” I said
“Wow! They’re really going for it.” Phillip said
“Yeah. They plan to open a place along the boardwalk if they get approved.”
“New building?” Larissa asked
“No, they’re aiming for that vacant place next to the sushi restaurant.”
“That’s a good size.” Cameron said

Our conversation was interrupted by a familiar voice behind us, “Hey guys!”

“You invited Teddy?” I asked Cameron
“Yeah, why?” He asked
“Just thought, it was going to be us?” I covered my question

Larissa looked at me with curious eyes. I widened mine as a silent “What?!” She simply shrugged. Cameron stood up and hugged his friend as she squatted down, sitting between Phillip and me. Cameron sat back down on the other side of me. Natalie had brought a bag full of snacks which we were rummaging through. After a few moments of talking, Cameron suggested we go into the water. Natalie and Phillip happily obliged to join him.
“I’m going to get a little bit of sun.” I said taking off my shirt
“Nice tattoo.” Teddy said placing the tips of his fingers on my back to touch it
“Thanks.” I said shift forward a bit
“I’m probably going to lay out for a bit too.” Teddy said taking off his shirt next
“Larissa?” Cameron asked
“Okay, okay.” She said getting up taking off her top to reveal her skimpy two piece
“Larissa…I thought you were going to lay out with me?” I begged her
“I will. I’ll be back in ten minutes.” She said smiling

Well…here I was…with Teddy. Alone again.

“So how did it go?” Teddy asked
“What?” I asked
“The X.”
“It actually felt amazing…the sex felt twice as…”
“Okay. Never mind. Forget I asked.” He said plugging his ears with his fingers
“Well, you asked.” I said
“Yeah. But I didn’t want to hear about you enjoying sex with Cameron.” He said frustrated
“So what? He’s my boyfriend.” I said clueless to his reason for frustration

Oh shit. He liked me. I thought the kiss at the club was just a combined side effect of the ecstasy and alcohol.

“I’m sorry.” I said
He just nodded in response looking down at his hands.
“I love Cameron.” I said honestly
“That’s good.” He said flatly, “He’s very lucky.”
I smiled. He caught a glimpse of me and gave me a small smile in return.
“Can I ask you something?” I began
“Sure. Anything.”
“That pill. Are those hard to get a hold of?”
“Ecstasy? No…they’re common in club scenes.” He admitted
“Hm. Have you been offered any?” I asked
“Yeah. I was given some last night.” He smiled
“Not from me.” I said
“No…I don’t mean you. Even after…someone gave me a couple.” He clarified
“Oh. Do you have any with you?”
“No. Not on me. Are you looking for yourself?” he asked

I didn’t respond as I looked out to the waterline watching Cameron and my friends jumping around in the water.
“Hey. I don’t judge.” He said quietly
“Sorry. I just feel guilty.” I said
“Don’t. You’re human. Besides, it’s not that bad of a drug. It makes you feel amazing and free.” He said
“It does…it really does.”
“Here.” He said pulling out his cell phone from his pocket, “Let me see your phone.”

I handed him my phone as he copied something from his phone to mine. He handed it back to me showing me the new contact. Mike 555-212-5500.
“Give him a call. He has some amazing stuff.” Teddy said
“Thanks.” I smiled
“Oh…and…I also saved my number in there.” He blushed
“You did?”
“I mean…just in case you ever wanted to hang out…or…whatever.” He said not making eye contact
“Thanks.” I giggled

We all spent the rest of the day lounging around on the beach until the sun began to set. We all said our goodbyes and headed home. When we got into our apartment, Cloud was thrilled to see us, purring and rubbing against our legs. Cameron was about to head upstairs to jump in the shower.

“Hey, babe.” I called out to him
“Yeah?” he answered back
“I’m going to go for a run before I shower.” I said
“Okay.” He said a little hesitant
“Love you.” I said before walking out the door
“Love you too.”

I walked back outside and began to walk north towards Boiler Bay and Lincoln Beach, the small city where Nick used to live with his brother, Brad. After about twenty minutes of running, I stopped along the road and pulled out my phone to check the time. It was 7:04pm. I scrolled through my contacts and stopped on Teddy’s name. I could feel the thump of my heart beating in my chest. I continued to scroll and stopped on Mike’s name. I hit the call button.

“Hello?” he answered
“Hi. Mike?” I questioned
“Yeah. Who is this?” he asked
“My name is Joey. I got your number from Teddy.”
“Oh. Yeah. He text me that he gave you my digits.”
“I hope that was okay?” I asked concerned
“Um. Sure. I guess.” He said unimpressed
“He told me that you had some good…”
“I don’t talk business over the phone.” Mike cut me off
“Oh. Sorry.” I said in a panic
“Come over to my place. I’ll text you the address.” He said before hanging up

I looked down at my phone waiting for his text. I received his address. He lived near Whale Cove. This was the beach that we always hung out at, the beach Cherry Blossom Cliff looked over and just down the street from Cameron’s mother’s home. I had to back track. I began to jog back down towards town, cutting through neighborhoods. About an hour into my jog, I arrived at the address Mike sent me. I took a minute to catch my breath before knocking on the door. He had a very nice house, it’s any wonder. He opened the door, looked at me up and down.

“Joey?” he asked
“Mike?”
“Get in.” he said opening the door more so I can walk in

I walked in, still a little short of breath.

“Need water?” he asked
“No. I’m good.” I said
“Have a seat.” He said
“Oh…I’m okay. I won’t take up too much of your time.”

The guy who looked about 25 stared at me. He was Caucasian, slim, not muscular but still had a slight tone. He was about six foot, brown hair spiked up in a messy look; he had blue eyes and a nice tan. He was wearing jeans and a black tank top on.

“take a load off, man. No rush.” He insisted

I sat down on his couch and began to assess his home.

“You have a nice place.” I said
“Thanks.”
“You live alone?” I asked
“Yeah.” He said
“Impressive.” I said in a low voice only I could hear

He sat down on the couch across from me.

“So what did you need?” he asked
“Need?”
“What’s your fix?” he clarified
“Oh. Um. X?” I asked
“All out.” He said sharply
“Fuck.” I said flustered
“Got something ten times better though.” He said getting up

He walked over to what looked like a small tool box. He pulled something out and sat back down on the couch. He tossed the item on the coffee table in between us and hunched over his knees resting his elbows on them. I looked at the small tube filled with white substance.

“Is that…”
“Cocaine.” He finished for me
“I’ve never used that before. I’m not sure that’s a good idea.”
“Okay.” He said picking it back up and leaning back
“Wait. How much is it?” I asked
“$250” he said
“Two-hundred and fifty dollars? American dollars?” I asked
“No, monopoly money. Yes American!” he snapped
“I don’t have that kind of money on me right now.” I admitted
“Okay.” He said hunched over thinking again, “how about this. I’ll give you a taste of it…if you come and taste my dick.”
“What?!” I asked in shock
“Blow for a blow.” He said

I sat in silence. Not sure what the fastest route out of his house would be? Run to the door, or crash through the wall?

“I’m fucking with you.” He laughed
“Really?” I asked
“Yeah. Come on man. I’m straight.” He said
“Oh, shit man.”
“You should have seen your face.” He laughed, “Listen, since this is your first time, I’ll let you try some of this one I have here. It’s my own personal stash.” He said pulling out a small container with powder in it.
“No charge?” I asked
“No charge, no blowjob. Just two dudes, having a good time.” He said
“Sure.” I said
“Here you go.” He said handing me the container
“Oh…um…can you go first?” I asked
“Yeah man. See what you do is pour a little out on a flat surface, usually glass or a mirror is easier to pile it together, use something with a flat edge to make it into a line, then u used a rolled up bill or straw to snort it.” He said as he inhaled his line

He handed me the container and guided me through the steps. I leaned over and placed the rolled up dollar bill to my nose. I looked up at him. He nodded. I hovered over the powdery line and inhaled deeply. I jumped back dropping the dollar bill. It was a weird sensation. I rubbed my nose not sure if I even did it right.

“That’s good. Just sit back and give it a couple of minutes.” He said leaning back against the couch

I did as he did. I closed my eyes. Within a few minutes, I felt like the room was spinning. I could hear bells chiming in my ears. The ocean sounded like it was in the room with us. I began to feel hot. I took off my shirt and threw it on the ground.

“No stripping.” Mike laughed, “Holy shit dude…you have a twenty-six pack.” He pointed at me laughing uncontrollably
“What? No I don’t…More like a thirty pack!” I laughed with him.
He took off his shirt and showed off his flat stomach.
“What? Dude, I didn’t realize they made three packs!” I joked
“Fuck you.” He laughed falling on the floor
“This shit is fucking amazing.” I said crawling on the floor and spreading out pretending to make snow angels
“I know right.” Mike said crawling next to me, “Hey.” He said looking at me
“Huh?” I asked
“Wanna blow me now?” he asked laughing
“Dude.” I laughed
“Come on…” he begged
“You said you were straight.” I grinned
“So…a blowie is a blowie.” He said confidently

I sat up and leaned over him as he laid against the side of his couch. I unzipped his pants, pulling down both is jeans and underwear. His penis was growing to a full erection. As I lowered my head, I locked eyes on his and opened my mouth and wrapped my lips around his…
